VitalStim

VitalStim Therapy is an FDA approved method to improve swallowing through the application of electrical stimulation to the swallowing muscles. VitalStim has been found to:
  • Be safe and effective with children.
  • Increase swallowing and muscle strength and function.
  • Accelerate the recovery time from a restricted diet.
  • Help the child achieve sustained improvement and long term results.
Help the child become tube independent. Children Who May Benefit:
  • Children of all ages
  • A child who has oral pharyngeal dysphagia
  • A child who may be tube-dependent for all nutrition
  • Children with strokes, traumatic brain injuries, laryngomalacia, spinal muscular atrophy, cerebral palsy, cleft lips and palate, down syndrome, and failure to thrive.

Augmentative Communication

Includes all forms of communication (other than oral speech) which are used to express thoughts, needs, wants, and ideas. Our Speech Therapists teach children to use AAC to communicate facial expressions, gestures, pictures, feelings and more using electronic devices or iPads. Children with severe speech or language problems may rely on AAC to supplement speech or replace speech that is not functional.

SmartFit’s focus on dual tasking, coupled with high-level cognitive engagement through gamification accelerates progress and improved retention while addressing the visual and cognitive abilities. Furthermore, the numbers & letters games allow our therapists to address memory, sequencing & expressive and receptive communication by identifying letters and numbers.

Pediatric Therapy & Developmental Play Gym

Our Pediatric Gyms are full of purposeful and creative therapy equipment, with fun toys, swings, and more to engage and target developmental goals while our kiddos have fun!  Our Gym was designed to extend imaginations, create self-confidence, learn new skills, and create successful paths of age-appropriate development.
